[music playing] Joe Biden: Six weeks after my election my wife and three children were Christmas shopping. Tractor-trailer broadsided and it killed my wife and killed my daughter. And they weren’t sure that my sons would live. I can remember my mother saying: “Joey, out of everything terrible that happens to you, something good will come, if you look hard enough for it.” Richard Alexander: I found my passion a long time ago. I’ve seen people work hard all of their lives and then be devastated by terrible injuries. Nina Shapirshteyn: We are prepared to fight and to go all the way. They should be focused on taking care of themselves and allow us, the experts, to take care of the legal side. We’ll figure out how far that profits over people mentality goes. Richard Alexander: All we need is a courtroom that will provide us with a level playing field. We can take care of the rest. Client: I got a sharp pain in my neck. My hands and feet started going numb. I was told that there was nothing wrong with me. That entire time I was getting nerve damage and slowly losing my ability to move. Client: My parents were involved in a car accident. My dad had passed away immediately. My mom she was still alive. It was so hard trying to plan my dad’s funeral, trying to decide whether we should wait until my mom felt better. I decided to reach out to the law firm and from there it was just wonderful working with them. They really wanted to help us. They treated me like I was part of their family. It’s been rough not having my dad there but if it wasn’t for Dick and Nina I don’t know where we’d be right now. Client: They’re very passionate about it and I wanted my voice to be heard. He was genuinely interested in my story, very passionate. They are by far the most personable people I’ve ever met. Richard Alexander: We work together as a team on every case. We don’t put one lawyer and one assistant on a case, we all work on it, at once. Nina Shapirshteyn: I want to walk in their shoes. You end up not just being their lawyer, but you’re their therapist, and their friend, you’re their entire support.
