The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has just issued a warning to U.S. consumers to stop using LayZ Board self-balancing scooters (aka hoverboards) immediately. The CPSC is urging consumers to get rid of these hoverboards following a fatal house fire that took the lives of two young girls in Harrisburg, PA. According to the CPSC, there is evidence that a LayZ Board was the hoverboard involved in the fatal house fire that happened on March 10, 2017. The CPSC worked together with the Harrisburg Fire Department for a swift and thorough investigation into what brand of hoverboard was involved in this devastating and fatal house fire.
Do You Have a LayZ Board Hoverboard?
If your family has a LayZ Board hoverboard in the home, the CPSC is urging you to quit charging it and to stop using it immediately. You can take the hoverboard to a local recycling center, where the lithium-ion batter can be properly and safely handled and taken care of. Additionally, the CPSC wants consumers to share the news with any friends or family members that might have LayZ Board hoverboards to help get the word out about the danger lurking in their homes.
