One woman is dead and another person seriously injured after a multiple vehicle accident in Santa Clara on January 21st.
According to Santa Clara Police, officers responded to reports of a collision around 4:50 a.m. involving a sedan and a SUV near the intersection of Tasman Drive and Great America Parkway, a few blocks from Levi’s Stadium where a sedan traveling westbound collided with a northbound SUV in the intersection.
The driver of the sedan, a 2003 Honda, was pronounced dead at the scene. She has since been identified as 54-year-old Yen Nguy of San Jose. The driver of the SUV, identified as 51-year-old San Jose resident Marlen Sotelo was transported to a local hospital where she was treated before being released. While no charges have been filed, the cause of the fatal collision remains under investigation by the Santa Clara Police Department.
