The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) just issued a press release about a recall impacting approximately 8 million defective Conair Cuisinart food processors. According to the CPSC, the riveted blade can crack, and small metal pieces of the blade can break off into the food. Due to the potential laceration hazard to consumers, the manufacturer is currently recalling a variety of defective models. These defective and dangerous food processors have been sold between July 1996 and December 2015 online and at various retailers.
Cuisinart Broken Blades and Laceration Hazard
At this time, Conair has received 69 reports of consumers finding broken pieces of blade in their food after using Cuisinart food processors. There have been at least 30 reports of injuries including lacerations to the mouth and tooth injuries. These four-riveted blades are silver colored stainless steel and have a beige plastic center hub. Over time, these blades can breakdown, and little pieces of metal can be left in the processed food. If you’re not sure if your food processor is one of the impacted models, check the bottom of the machine for the model number. Consumers with these Cuisinart food processors are instructed to stop using them immediately and contact Cuisinart for a free replacement blade. Listed below is the current list of recalled models of Conair Cuisinart food processors.

Defective and Faulty Appliances
Consumers and their families are counting on the appliances they use everyday to function safely and as they’re designed. If these products have manufacturing or design defects, they can put consumers at risk for potentially catastrophic injuries. Unfortunately, it can take a long time for some recalls to get initiated, so if you think a defective product caused your injury, it’s a good idea to raise your concern with the manufacturer and an experienced product liability lawyer as soon as possible.
