Earlier this week, a semi truck slammed into a PG&E power pole after getting stuck in a Portrero Hill neighborhood and rolling downhill. ABC Channel Seven News reports hat the truck’s air brakes went out as the driver was trying to navigate a hill. The truck then rolled downhill and didn’t stop until it struck a power pole.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported with this semi truck crash, as a runaway truck in a residential area is extremely dangerous. Power was cut off to more than 4,000 people in the area as crews worked to repair the pole. Community members are calling on a ban on large trucks in this area due to safety concerns.
