Campbell – A hit-and-run accident in Campbell this morning has left a bicyclist injured, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
The accident was reported at 6:41 a.m. in the area of White Oaks Road and Camden Avenue, near state Highway 17.
The bicyclist was hit by a pickup truck, the extent of the injuries is unknown according to CHP Officer John Short.
The driver, described as an unshaven Hispanic man in his 40s or 50s who spoke with an accent, drove away afterward, Short said.
The truck is described as a white or tan Datsun or Toyota pickup that had been converted to a flatbed. It has wooden panels on the side and was full of scrap metal. The windshield was shattered from the impact of the bicyclist, Short said.
Anyone who spots the vehicle should call 911 immediately.
