On Sunday, an 11-year-old boy was seriously injured while riding his bicycle in Danville. NBC Bay Area News reported that a vehicle struck the child as he was riding his bike near Camino Tassajara and Lomitas Drive, sometime around 12:55 p.m. Although very little information about the incident has been released, the driver involved reportedly remained on the scene to cooperate with authorities. The child was airlifted to UC Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland with serious injuries.
At this time, we do not know how or why the driver struck the child. This collision is probably still under investigation with local law enforcement authorities.
