Popular off-road vehicle manufacturer Polaris is currently conducting a recall of their PRO XD and Ranger utility vehicles due to an injury hazard to users. At this time, Polaris is recalling their model year 2019 PRO XD and model year 2020 Ranger utility vehicles (UTVs) due to defective seat belts. Apparently, the seat belts on these off-highway vehicles can fail. This poses a huge risk of injury to users, especially if they’re in a crash or a tip-over incident. Users are at risk of injury from crash impact or even ejection from the vehicle if seat belts fail.

Currently, more than 10,000 of these off-road vehicles are being recalled. Thankfully, no serious personal injuries have been reported in association with these defective Polaris utility vehicles. These utility vehicles were originally sold at Polaris dealers nationwide, between October of 2019 and December of 2019. They ran from about $9,500 to $24,000, depending upon the model and options purchased. Listed below are the models being impacted by this recall.

What To Do If You Have a Defective Polaris UTV
If you have one of these off-highway utility vehicles, you need to stop using it immediately. Contact your local Polaris dealer to schedule a free inspection and repair of your UTV. Although Polaris is notifying dealers and contacting registered owners, it’s still a good idea to be proactive. Not everybody remembers to register their off road vehicles, and changes of ownership can also mean a delay in notification of recalls. If you own a Polaris off road vehicle, check to see if it’s one of the models currently being recalled due to defective seat belts.
