On Monday, a fire at a construction site injured eight construction workers in San Francisco. According to KTVU Channel 2 the fire happened at the former Renoir Hotel, in the Mid-Market neighborhood at 45 McAllister Street. Apparently, crews were installing studs into the existing structure, prior to the fire starting.
Cal/OSHA is currently investigating if welding work could have sparked the blaze. Most of the workers were treated for smoke inhalation. KTVU News Channel Two reports that the site’s general contractor, San Francisco-based Pacific Structures, was inspected six times and found in regulatory violation in June of 2013. This incident is still under investigation, and officials are conducting interviews with employees, workers and witnesses. The team at Alexander Law Group, LLP wishes the injured workers speedy and full recoveries.
