On Tuesday morning, five people were killed and many other people were injured in a tour bus crash on Highway 99. KRON Channel Four News reported that the wreck happened between Atwater and Livingston at about 3:30 a.m. The bus reportedly struck a highway exit sign pole, which tore through the middle of the bus.
At this time, there has been no word on the cause of the tour bus crash.
In our experience in transit buses, school buses, party buses, commuter vans, and commercial vehicles accidents are always more than just a driver falling asleep at the wheel.
Management failures are at the core of the serious personal injuries and wrongful deaths suffered by those who trust transportation companies to provide the highest level of care.
There have been at least five deaths reported in connection with this crash, and the majority of the 30 passengers on board were taken to hospitals for treatment of unspecified injuries. The big question is whether this tour bus company carries enough insurance coverage to pay all of these claims.
