Five people were injured in an accident including one female passenger who was thrown from a minivan, according to the San Jose Fire Department officials.
All five people were rushed to the hospital with moderate injuries and were expected to survive.
The accident occurred at Blossom Hill and Harwood Roads just outside the Blossom Hill Shopping Center around 3:30 yesterday afternoon. Two vehicles, a minivan and a SUV, were involved in the accident which happened at around 3:30 p.m.
One female passenger, a minor, was thrown from the minivan and another minor and two adults in the van were injured along with the driver of the SUV, who was alone in the vehicle.
An estimated 25 firefighters and four ambulances responded to the scene, officials said. Rescue crews used extrication tools to remove some of the occupants from the vehicles, Brown said.
It was not immediately clear what caused the crash. San Jose police are investigating.
