A fatal crash early Saturday in San Jose took the lives of two women, Gabrielle Ellis, 20, and Ella Danilyuk, 21, both from Fresno, authorities said Sunday.
Both were passengers in an Infinity sedan which crossed two lanes of southbound Highway 101 near the Blossom Hill Road exit and hit several trees, according to the California Highway Patrol. The driver, a 20-year-old man also from Fresno, suffered major injuries.
According to the CHP, the driver was going 70 mph when the car changed lanes, went off the highway and smashed into the trees.
