New information is coming to light about serious side effects associated with the popularly prescribed drug, Lipitor. Pfizer, the manufacturer of the cholesterol-lowering drug has been named in about 1,000 lawsuits over the past five months.
The approximately 4,000 women who are being represented allege that they developed type 2 diabetes while on Lipitor, and that Pfizer did not properly warn them about the risks associated with the drug.
Lipitor is actually the best-selling prescription drug ever. Although the drug was approved in 1996, it wasn’t until 2012 that the label included a warning for an increased risk of diabetes.
