A motorcyclist was killed this morning in a collision on southbound Highway 101 near San Tomas Expressway.
According to the Highway Patrol they began receiving reports just before 6 a.m., of motorcyclist down in the slow lane of 101 just south of San Tomas Expressway, according to Officer Peter Van Eckhardt. Witnesses told the CHP that the motorcycle appeared to be totaled.
Two lanes of Highway 101 were closed for about three hours as officers investigated the fatal collision. All lanes were reopened at about 9 a.m.
The identity of the victim and accident details have not been released pending investigation of the accident and notification of victim’s family.
