One person was killed and four were injured in a crash involving a Monterey-Salinas Transit bus and pickup truck in Salinas last Friday, a California Highway Patrol dispatcher said.
The accident was reported at about 5:15 a.m. at the intersection of Blanco and Davis roads in Salinas. The driver of the pickup truck, the lone occupant of the vehicle, was killed in the crash, according to the dispatcher. The driver has not yet been identified.
Four people on the bus were hospitalized. Three suffered moderate injuries and one suffered minor injuries, the dispatcher said.
The crash blocked the intersection for nearly four hours. All lanes reopened in the area at about 9:05 a.m., she said.
