A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car while walking in East San Jose on Tuesday, police said.
The woman, whose age was listed as 75 and not immediately identified, died at the scene. She was struck by a blue 1997 Toyota Camry at the intersection of Capitol Expressway and Cunningham Avenue, next to the Reid-Hillview Airport. The accident happened just before 9 p.m., and firefighters pronounced the woman dead 12 minutes later.
The 19-year-old woman driving the Camry cooperated with officers and was not arrested. It was not immediately clear what caused the accident, San Jose Police are still investigating.
