The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) just issued a press release regarding a recall on Polaris All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) due to the potential of fire hazards. According to the CPSC, 2014 Polaris Sportsman 570 ATVs are being recalled due to a fuel-leaking problem. On these defective ATVs, fuel can leak into the headlight pod, causing a risk for serious fire hazards. These Polaris Sportsman ATVs were originally sold throughout the U.S. between April of 2014 and May of 2017. Listed below are the current models being impacted by this recall.

Defective Polaris ATVs
At this time, there have been 30 reports of fuel leaks. At least four of those reports involved fire. Thankfully, no serious injuries have been reported in connection with these defective ATVs. If you own one of these ATVs, stop using it immediately and contact Polaris to schedule a free repair. Although Polaris is contacting all known purchasers directly, you should still check your vehicle’s make and model just to be sure. You can’t always count on a post card in the mail to tell you whether or not there is an open recall on your vehicle. Be proactive and check with the manufacturer if you think your vehicle may be under recall, and always report any suspicious incidents involving your ATVs or other vehicles and goods with their manufacturer and with the CPSC.
