A road rage incident in East San Jose Tuesday has left one man dead, and another a fugitive implicated in the former’s murder.
Near Tully Road in San Jose, between 10:00-10:15 a.m., an altercation occurred between a pickup truck and a silver Volkswagen Jetta. According to San Jose Police, they were both traveling the vehicles did not collide but the incident escalated to the point where both cars pulled to the side of the street, near the intersection of Senter Road and Baltic Way.
At this point the victim, described as a middle-aged man, got out of his pickup truck and exchanged words with the occupants of the Jetta. At some point during this exchange, police report he was shot at least once by the passenger of the Volkswagen Jetta before the occupants of the car fled the scene. It is not known whether the suspects got out of their vehicle or not. They are described as two men in their late teens or early 20s, but no furthering identifying features have been reported.
The victim was reported to be conscious and breathing before being transported to a nearby hospital, but died from his wounds later that evening.
With the cooperation of eyewitness and police officials, the investigation is still ongoing. As of now, the identity of the victim has not been released nor has there has been sightings or reports of the murder suspects. This incident is the 15th murder in San Jose this year, and the second to reported in two days.
