MARTINEZ — A motorcycle accident this morning in Martinez resulted in major injuires and forced the closure of eastbound lanes of Highway 4 this morning, the California Highway Patrol said.
It is unclear whether any other vehicles were involved in the incident, reported about 7:50 a.m. near Morello Avenue, the CHP said. The rider was not breathing immediately after the crash, the CHP said, but his exact condition was not immediately known.
The two left lanes were closed to allow access for emergency vehicles, but they have since opened one lane, leaving the far-left lane still closed. An estimate for when the road will be cleared was not available.
