On Monday, a former Stanford Hospital anesthesia technician pleaded no contest on two counts of sexual battery. KRON Channel Four News reported that the anesthesia tech, 56-year-old Robert Lastinger of Fremont, was fired last year after several nurses reported that he had touched the genitals of male patients post-surgery while they were still under anesthesia. The patients ranged in age from 16 to 52 years old.
Lastinger worked at the hospital between 2009 and 2015. He was originally charged with four counts of sexual battery, but took a plea deal for a sentence of no more than a year in jail. At this time, he is out on bail and awaiting his sentencing, which is scheduled on June 29, 2016.
