Earlier this week, a bus carrying summer camp children was involved in a multi-vehicle wreck on Interstate 80. According to ABC Channel Seven News, there were about eight vehicles involved in the chain-reaction crash, and first responders had to setup a large-scale triage area for victims. For currently unknown reasons, the school bus crashed into a van in front of it, and then an additional six vehicles were involved in the subsequent chain-reaction crash.
Unfortunately, the children were riding in an older school bus that did not have seat belts. Thankfully, no major injuries were initially reported. About 23 of the approximately 40 people involved in the crash, including children, were transported to hospitals for treatment.
