A San Jose woman 24-year-old Cassandra Victoria Strickland, died early yesterday morning when her Toyota 4Runner struck a palm tree in Los Gatos, according to police.
About 3:20 a.m., Los Gatos-Monte Sereno police received a call of a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Blossom Hill Road and Union Avenue, according to Capt. Alana Forrest. The woman was found inside the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are investigating a high rate of speed as a possible factor in the crash, Forrest said. Police could not find skidmarks at the scene.
The Los Gatos police fatal accident team is working the investigation.
