A 33-year-old woman was seriously injured Thursday evening when she was struck by a sport utility vehicle as she crossed a street Thursday evening, Livermore police said.
The unidentified woman, who lives in Livermore, was crossing Fourth Street in the intersection at South K Street when she was struck by an eastbound Toyota Sequoia. An acquaintance of the woman who was walking with her was able to avoid being struck.
The woman was taken to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley, where she remains.
The driver of the Toyota was a 72-year-old Livermore man. He cooperated with investigators and was released. According to Livermore Police alcohol and drugs were not factors in the crash.
